The minority leader in Parliament has said that an administration led by John Mahama will put the fight against corruption.

According to Haruna Iddrisu, the standard-bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) believes that eradicating corruption is a sure way to ensure the country’s development.

“His Excellency John Mahama is committed to making corruption once again a high-risk activity,” he said.

He was speaking at the Accra University for Professional Studies (UPSA), where the NDC released its manifesto ahead of the 2020 elections.

The manifest is folded; ‘People’s Manifesto: Jobs, Prosperity and More’.

Addressing the meetings of party executives, Iddrisu opined that the ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP) has turned a blind eye to numerous corruption scandals that have strained the nation since it took power in 2017.

“John Dramani Mahama will find answers to all unanswered questions about corruption, be it BOST, the National Youth Authority or Kroll and Associates. Only in Ghana can excavators disappear, be found and nothing happens. That will not happen under the presidency of John Mahama.

The senior NDC member added that officials under a future NDC administration who engage in acts of corruption will be dealt with.

Haruna Iddrisu also emphasized that the former president will “reduce the size of the minister and review and reform Ghana’s public service to respond to the Covid emergency and deepen the administrative efficiency of those institutions.”
