Mr. Mahama expressed his disappointment at the cancellation of the free fertilizer program introduced by his administration for cocoa farmers, noting that President Nana Akufo-Addo chose to sell cocoa to farmers with fertilizers marked “no to la sale”.

He promised farmers that he would reinstate the free fertilizer program.

At the meeting, the former president introduced the NDC parliamentary candidate for the area, Hannah Bissue, who was also Deputy Minister of Agriculture under his administration. He said it was important to have more capable women in Parliament and therefore asked people to vote for him to be their Member of Parliament.
