Information Minister Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has stated that he was not surprised when former President John Dramani Mahama said that the PNP government has lost the fight against COVID-19 in the country.

He said this on Monday, September 7, 2020, at the launch of the NDC manifesto at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

Responding to this in an interview on the Kumasi-based Pure FM morning show on Wednesday September 9, 2020, Hon. Kojo Oppong said that John Dramani Mahama and his NDC wanted Ghana to fail from day one.

He said the NDC wants to use that for propaganda, “so they were challenging any information that the Health Ministry brought to light.”

According to him, the NDC later formed a COVID-19 team just to upset the government and the Ministry of Health, but not everything worked out.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah took the opportunity to speak about the NDC manifesto, calling it a manifesto full of lies.

He stressed that the NDC has kept only 30% of its 2016 manifesto promises.
