Naba RSM Sayeed Musah Abubakari Sadik, head of Gambigo in the Bolgatanga East constituency, has converted Mr. John Dramani Mahama, presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), into Naba Amalitinga I (King of Development).

The costume was in recognition of the many development projects that Mr. Mahama brought to the traditional area during his first term as president.

Naba Sayeed Musah Abubakari Sadik bestowed the honor on Mr. Mahama in Durbar from the chiefs and people of Gambigo and the surrounding communities in the Bolgatanga East constituency.

The Chief noted that during Mr. Mahama’s tenure, the traditional area had a fair share of the national pie, such as the upper secondary school (SHS) E-block complex, which now served nearby communities such as Zuarungu and Bolgatanga Central. .

The Chief mentioned rural electrification projects, roads and bridges construction projects as some of the achievements of the NDC Government in the area.

He also commended Mr. Mahama for appointing Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, Member of Parliament for the area, to serve as Deputy Minister of Justice and Attorney General during his first term.

Naba Sayeed Musah Abubakari Sadik asked Mr. Mahama if the Ghanaians gave him the mandate on December 7 to add boarding facilities to the Gambigo Community Day SHS.

He also called for the repair of some roads and bridges, which have been abandoned since the Mahama administration left office.

The Chief wished Mahama and Ayine the best in the December 7 elections.

Mr. Mahama thanked the Chief and the Gambigo Elders for the honor they did to him and the NDC and assured the Chief that his next administration would add boarding facilities to the Gambigo SHS for boys and girls respectively.

This, he said, would allow school-age children who come from communities that are somewhat far away to have a place to stay and learn so they can develop their full potential.
He noted that his roads and bridges would be repaired by his next administration.

“I am happy to see this beautiful school building standing here, I think it is a mark of some of the good works that we left, not only in the education sector, but in the health sector, in water, provision of light, good quality roads across this country. “

He said that quality education is one of the most important ingredients needed to create the human resource that any country needed.

“And it is important for us to continue to provide the infrastructure so that all of our children can have access to a quality education,” he said.

Mr. Mahama said, “We introduced the free SHS program in 2015, that is, when I launched it, I declared that the free SHS started in 2015. And the video is where I announced the start of the free SHS.

“By the time they were leaving office in 2016, we had all day students in SHS free and we had added 146,000 interns to the SHS free program.

“That is the fact. So if someone comes to tell you that when NDC arrives they will cancel the free SHS, that person is obviously telling a big lie because we can’t cancel what we started. “

He said that if the current government had used their method to implement free SHS, they would not have finished with the two-way system and the next NDC administration would keep the free SHS program and improve it.

Mahama reiterated that his next administration would eliminate the two-track system within a year and asked Ghanaians to vote for the NDC to return to power to continue his good works.

Mr. Ayine thanked Mr. Mahama for providing the Gambigo Community with an electronic block.

“I brought you here tonight to thank you profusely for the E-block you gave to the Gambigo bosses and people,” he said.

“Your Government gave us this beautiful building, which is serving to improve the educational needs of the communities in the eastern Bolgatanga constituency.”
