Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana on a three-day tour of the Upper East region

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama did not complete any road projects in the Upper East region despite remaining in power for 8 years.
Dr. Bawumia said the former president was in power for a long time, both as vice president and president, but was unable to execute any significant projects in the region.
He said “… in the 8 years of John Mahama, not a single road was completed, a single road in the entire Upper East region. Not a single road. 8 years, 8 years but they did not complete a road. But today, We have practically finished with the Bolga-Bawku highway. We are working on it. Eventually it will be done. We are working on it and other roads. This is a little less than 4 years but in 8 years it could not do a single project. “
Speaking at a durbar by the chiefs and village of Mirigu in the western district of Kassena-Nankana on Tuesday, Dr. Bawumia stated that John Dramani Mahama’s inability to undertake a single project in the region “was a monumental development failure. “which showed that he does not possess the leadership skills or deserve to return to power.
He said that returning John Mahama to power meant taking the country two steps back.
Therefore, he urged the people to vote en masse for the New Patriotic Party (PNP).
He affirmed that the intention of President Akufo-Addo and the PNP is to develop each part of the country, reiterating the calls to the population of the area to support the PNP to retain power in the elections of December 7, 2020.
“… So, is this the same John Mahama who wants to go back and be president of this country? To be president of this country after such a poor record of development in the Upper East region? The disc was a monumental development failure and therefore we do not want a return. We take a step forward with Nana Akufo Addo. Let’s move on, we don’t want to go back. We do not want to take two steps back, ”he urged the people.
Dr. Bawumia showed Robert Aloo, the Patriotic Party’s new parliamentary candidate for Chiana-Paga, also calling on the people to support his candidacy for greater prospects.
