The standard-bearer of the Democratic National Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has asked members of the global community to pay close attention to the country’s upcoming elections.

He said this will allow them to engage the Electoral Commission (EC) and various stakeholders on how to solve the problems that have characterized the new voter registration.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Mr. Mahama stated that the credibility of the EC should be called into question in the face of several anomalies that have emerged in the registration process.

“I wish to appeal to the international community and its electoral observers. Given everything that has gone wrong with the electoral process and the likelihood that the major challenges will continue before the elections, I would like to urge you to focus your lenses on Ghana and get to the country sooner than ever, ”he said.

This follows cases where names are missing from the newly compiled voter register during the current display exercise.

The former president revealed that his running mate Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang had to receive a new card, as the initial one had a duplicate identification number.

However, he brazenly stated that the party will reject any result of a “compromised election.”

Recently, Ashaiman Member of Parliament (MP) Ernest Henry Norgbey accused the EC of allegedly erasing his name along with 21,000 other people in his constituency alone.
