Romelu Lukaku warned Alexis Sánchez and Ashley Young to leave Manchester United and join Inter Milan due to the ‘divided’ dressing room at Old Trafford.
La Repubblica in Italy has claimed that Lukaku was shocked by the difference in atmosphere between the clubs after leaving for Milan last year in a £ 73 million exchange.
Since then, Lukaku has teamed up with Sánchez and Young, and both players seemingly follow the limitless advice of their teammates and seal permanent moves of their own.
The post suggests that the two stars asked Lukaku for his opinion on the two European powerhouses before leaving United.
The Belgian leader is said to have told them that unity among the players at Inter was reason enough to end their mixed spells in Manchester.
An alleged division in his former club’s dressing room was also highlighted in a withering response.
The report says: ‘Lukaku was tired of United because Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial were fighting to pass the ball to him.
‘It was an image of a dressing room divided into groups.
‘When Sánchez and Young asked him before signing how things were at Inter, the first answer was “very good, there are no clans.”
Lukaku’s move since then has paid dividends. He scored 34 goals in all competitions last season and has escaped the skeptics following his struggles at United, which saw him score 42 times in 96 games.
He was quickly joined by experienced forward Sánchez on loan a few weeks later, and since then the Chilean international’s season has become permanent.
For his part, winger Young was signed to reinforce Antonio Conte’s defense in January of this year.
Both players made 32 and 25 appearances respectively in the last season and have appeared regularly in the early stages of the current period.
