Luis Suárez may not be enjoying his best football lately, but the Uruguayan number 9 is set to hit a milestone in LaLiga Santander appearances next weekend.
Atlético de Madrid plays against Elche and Suárez will play his 200th match in the highest category in Spain. In his 199 so far, Suárez has scored 150 goals.
During his five seasons in Barcelona, the Uruguayan became Lionel Messi’s most trusted attacking partner. He showed himself as one of the best forwards in the world and reached incredible numbers, scoring 40 goals in 35 games in 2015/16.
His latest adventure at Atlético started off brilliantly, scoring a double on his debut and then against Celta de Vigo, Real Betis and Cádiz. But, a positive case of the coronavirus stopped him in his tracks.

Atleti’s need for a scorer led Diego Simeone to immediately reintroduce him into the team, despite lacking form and rhythm for the match.
He’s still trying to catch up and having rested for the recent Copa del Rey first round match he should be ready to celebrate his double century of appearances in Spain.
