Luis Suárez has offered his opinion on the future of Lionel Messi at Barcelona and believes that the captain could still be convinced to stay at the Camp Nou.
The Argentine international made it clear that he wanted to leave during the summer, but could not find a way out and later confirmed that he would spend the season at Barça.
It is not yet clear what Messi will do when his contract expires next summer, but Suarez has said he could stay if there are changes at Camp Nou.
“Leo is aware of what it means for Barcelona,” he said. “He has given the club things that you could never imagine. It must remain No.1, being the best and [being] happy.
“Maybe there is the possibility that he will play for another club, but if he feels comfortable and happy and a new board comes in, he will want to stay at the club. As a friend, I’ll be happy if things go well for him there, but also if he has to go to another club ”.
