Liverpool’s Champions League group stage matches were confirmed after Thursday’s draw in Geneva.
The Reds were tied in Group D along with Ajax, Atalanta and FC Midtjylland for this year’s continental competition as Jurgen Klopp’s team hopes to reach the final for the third time since the German took over at Anfield.
With matches to take place in successive weeks on both sides of the November international break as the tournament seeks to return to schedule after a delayed start to the season due to the coronavirus pandemic, Liverpool will face possibly its most difficult test. in his first Champions League outing a trip to Amsterdam on Wednesday 21 October.
They will host FC Midtjylland on their first European night of the season at Anfield on Tuesday 27 October before traveling to Italy to face Atalanta on Tuesday 3 November.
After the international break in November, the Reds’ Champions League exploits will continue with the second leg against the Serie A team at Anfield on Wednesday 25 November before hosting Ajax on Tuesday 1 December.
Liverpool’s group stage will conclude in Denmark with a trip to FC Midtjylland on Wednesday 9 December.
All of the Reds’ Champions League group matches will begin at 8 pm, in addition to their final start which will begin at 5:55 pm.
