Liverpool are sweating over the fitness of Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson ahead of their game against Leicester City on Sunday.
The Reds have suffered numerous injuries, a list that has lengthened during the international break with Joe Gomez suffering a long-term knee injury and Mohamed Salah testing positive for coronavirus.
It means Jurgen Klopp would get a big boost if Fabinho, Thiago and Henderson were approved for Sunday’s game.
Fabinho, who had been playing as a center midfielder after Virgil van Dijk’s severe knee injury in last month’s Merseyside derby, has been out of action since limping with a hamstring injury in the victory of Reds 2-0 over Midtjylland on Oct. 27.
However, the 27-year-old was seen today at Liverpool’s new AXA Training Center doing work out in the gym, suggesting that his return may not be far off.
Meanwhile, summer signing Thiago has not turned up after suffering an injury in the Merseyside derby and was also photographed at the new training ground.
It is not yet clear what stage of recovery the Spanish midfielder is in, but there is high hope that he will soon be able to return to action after a frustrating start at Anfield.
Henderson is also a doubt after his substitution at halftime during England’s loss to Belgium on Sunday due to muscle strain.
The midfielder returned early from international duty to undergo an evaluation on possible injury, but was photographed in the gym at the Reds’ training ground on Thursday.
However, as he seemed to be going through a one-on-one session, it’s hard to assess how prepared he is for Sunday.
Klopp is set to give an update on the trio’s fitness at their pre-game press conference on Friday, and the best-case scenario would certainly be for all three to be fit for the game.
If they are fit and can start, it will be interesting to see how Klopp lines up for the match …

Alisson would remain in goal, having been an unused substitute in Brazil’s two games during the international break.
James milner He will likely get the go-ahead on Neco Williams to replace the right-back after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury ruled him out until December.
Williams impressed on Wales’ international service, but Milner’s experience should help against a strong Leicester attack, especially if the veteran is not needed in midfield.
In the central defender, Joel matip’s retiring from international soccer means you must be fit and well rested for the game.
Fabinho He would be Matip’s teammate in defense if he gets out of shape. If not, Nat Phillips or Rhys Williams might as well start.
Andy Robertson He should be on the left back after playing in Scotland’s loss to Israel on Wednesday. There were concerns about him before the game, but he seems to have gotten over it well.
In the midfield Thiago Y Jordan henderson would appear next to Gini Wijnaldum so it appears, on paper, to be a compelling trio.
Naby Keita and Curtis Jones would be possible alternatives if Thiago or Henderson were ruled out.
In the attack, Salah will almost certainly be lost due to a positive coronavirus test.
That means a front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota It could be on the Reds’ cards. Xherdan Shaqiri and Takumi Minamino would be waiting behind the scenes.
He may be missing a few key players, but this lineup certainly looks like one that could upset most Premier League teams.
Possible starting eleven: Alisson; Milner, Fabinho, Matip, Robertson; Henderson, Thiago, Wijnaldum; Mane, Firmino, Jota.
