Liverpool’s new acquisition Diogo Jota has admitted he is an Everton fan after sealing his Wolves signing on Saturday.

The Portuguese moved to Anfield on a £ 45 million deal and in an interview with the club, revealed that he often watched Premier League football and supported the Blues while growing up in Portugal.

“I loved watching Everton play, especially when they played at home. It was not a club that fought for the title but that always made life very difficult for the great teams. And I loved that drive and competitiveness. They were relentless,” said Jota. .

Jota became Liverpool’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of Thiago Alcántara from Bayern Munich.

In the deal that got him to Anfield, Liverpool parted ways with Ki-Jana, who moved in the other direction as The Reds looking to defend their title that began with a 4-3 win over Leeds last week.

This is followed by a match against Chelsea, but it remains to be seen whether Alcantara will play a role in the tie scheduled for Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
