According to AS Roma Live, Liverpool are said to be interested in landing Roma defender Roger Ibáñez, as Jurgen Klopp seeks defensive reinforcements.
The Reds returned to the top of the table this week with an excellent 2-1 victory over the Spurs. One Bobby Firmin winner was enough to hand Klopp’s men all three points at Anfield.
However, they still lack numbers in defensive areas and Ibáñez is apparently the last to be mentioned in terms of possible recruits to help in the last four.
Ibáñez, 22, hails from Brazil and has been a regular in Serie A this season for Roma. And coming from the South American country, he has many top quality players to look up to in his career.
In fact, according to Roma’s official website, Ibanzez ‘idolizes’ current Chelsea star and Brazilian legend Thiago Silva. The seasoned former PSG player has been exceptional for the Blues this period after his free move in the summer.
It goes without saying that if Ibanez can have some of the success that Thiago has enjoyed, then he could be a good addition for the Reds if they really make a play for him.

Ibáñez has a bit more versatility than Thiago, but looking up at the Brazilian stalwart, he certainly has the right eye for a player to follow in the footsteps of.
