Liverpool are inviting offers for Champions League hero Divock Origi, who is the club’s second longest-serving player after Jordan Henderson.
Jurgen Klopp, looking to raise funds for new signings after a disappointing season, will allow 25-year-old Origi to leave this summer with the Belgian who has largely departed from the image of the first team.
His last start was against Everton on January 31, although he provided a substitute assist against Leipzig on Wednesday night.
Origi signed for Liverpool in 2014 after starring in the World Cup in Brazil with Belgium. He initially spent a year on loan with Lille before arriving at Anfield, where he played in Klopp’s first game for Tottenham.
Liverpool’s three regular forwards of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino subsequently restricted their chances, but played a key role in their impressive 2019 Champions League success, scoring two goals in the famous 4-0 comeback over Barcelona and then scoring in the final against the Spurs.
He signed a new contract based on those performances, but with Klopp now looking to bolster his squad, other clubs in Europe are aware of his availability.
Origi has three years left on her contract and, in terms of age, is entering the peak years of her career, so Liverpool will be looking for a transfer fee that they can then reinvest.
