Impact of the second block of the Champions League

The government announced that a new national blockade will be introduced in England.

It means that the country will be under another national blockade starting Thursday, November 5, with measures that will last a month.

The hope is that a one-month shutdown could allow families to reunite over the Christmas period, with a second wave expected to peak in mid-December if no action is taken.

While Boris Johnson gave the green light for Premier League matches to continue, Liverpool fans may now be concerned about how all of this affects the team’s participation in the Champions League.

Currently, European matches can still go ahead as the government allows cross-border elite sport to still take place.

As it stands, the teams are not expecting anything to change regarding European matches with the LFC set to travel to Atalanta on Tuesday, November 3 for their next group stage match.
