Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, presidential running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called for calm during the campaign activities of the parties that are contesting the December 7 elections.

“Our activities should not be characterized by violence and disorder, since we are not at war with each other.

“Let’s not spill blood on our political differences, but let’s think about the general interest of citizenship, the stability and development of the nation,” advised Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

She made the call when she paid a courtesy visit to Barima Osei Hwedie II, chief of Ejura in the Ashanti region, as part of her campaign tour to interact with traditional authorities, merchants, students, women’s groups, youth and the community. university.

The NDC presidential running mate said the policy is about addressing needs and helping improve the quality of life for Ghanaians.

“We have a responsibility to always ensure that the competition of ideas does not in any way result in confusion,” he said.

Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang is on a six-day working visit to solicit votes for the party in Ashanti, where the NDC has three of the 47 constituencies: Asawase, Ejura-Sekyedumase and Sekyere Afram Plains.

Accompanying the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) is a team of some of the NDC leaders, including Mr. Alex Segbefia, former Minister of Health, and Dr. Samuel Sarpong, former Regional Minister.

The others are Nana Akwasi Andrews, regional chairman of the NDC and Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament (MP) from North Tongu in the Volta region, and also former Deputy Minister of Information.

The NDC obtained 503,497 votes, representing 23.32 percent of the total votes cast in the presidential race of the 2016 general elections.

He is campaigning in this year’s elections in hopes of winning more seats to further strengthen the party’s presence in Parliament.

The campaign tour also saw the NDC Presidential Running Mate pay a courtesy visit to the head of Sekyedumase, Nana Antwi Boasiako II, and Nana Apau Wiafe Ababio Sanwansa, head of Hemang, where he described the party’s vision to the bosses and the people. .

Barima Osei Hwedie praised the NDC Running Mate for its humility and called on political parties to address the issues at their campaign rallies.
