Pastor Mensa Otabil has urged Ghanaians to continue to observe COVID-19 safety protocols even as the virus appears to be declining in Ghana.

The founder of the International Central Church of the Gospel (ICGC) said on Sunday, October 4, 2020, that being complacent about the fall of the virus could be dangerous.

“As you know, the last few months, from March to now, which is probably about six months, has been quite an interesting time in our world. We have had to live with these very uncertain times and I know that in Ghana we are doing well, God has been good to us and it seems that we are keeping the virus under control, but I do not want anyone to have an idea of complacency, to think that it is over and then relax ”, warned Pastor Otabil.

He said: “… I see that more and more people relax the protocols; they don’t wear the mask and they don’t take social distancing seriously. “

“The last thing you want to do is be a last minute person who will be infected with the virus when he leaves,” he warned, emphasizing: “You do not want to get infected when he leaves.”

“You have had a good fight when it was difficult, let’s finish well,” he encouraged.

“And, for all who listen to me, let’s finish well, let’s push it, let’s eradicate this totally so that we can return to our lives at the right time,” emphasized Pastor Otabil.

“So, I just want to cheer everyone up; I know it is tiring, tired, frustrating, we want to be free, but the virus is not tired and we have to hold on and do the right thing until we are totally free of all the marks that this virus has left on you. ”He added.

As of Sunday, the Ghana Health Service had confirmed 26 new cases of COVID-19.
