Ghanaian high life musician Kuami Eugene finally responded to criticism from Sonnie Badu who lost their cool after he congratulated him on winning the 2020 VGMA Artist of the Year.

The popular gospel minister was heavily criticized for congratulating the young musician and failing to do the same with the gospel musicians who won awards at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Vision 1 FM’s OB Narty opened the ‘flood door’ of criticism which was later followed by Celestine Donkor.

The ‘Agbebolo’ singer told MzGee in an interview on TV3 that it would have been nice for Sonnie Badu to also congratulate the gospel musicians after his goodwill message to Kuami Eugene.

“It’s just nice; morally correct and socially pleasant to support colleagues who excel. As legendary as he is, much is expected of him. I call this ‘nhwehwe animu’. It really is with the people of the gospel, ”he said.

Reacting to this development in an interview with Citi News, the Lynx Entertainment artist spoke about how important it is for people to be accepted no matter who they are or where they come from.

“All I will say is that we must leave room for everyone to shine, whether you are a church person or not, to the extent that you are human. That’s what religion is all about. The ability to accept people regardless of their origin. So, I would say, let’s open up, ”Kuami Eugene posited.
