Riyad Mahrez had given Man City an advantage over his former team, but Leicester held a 2-1 lead at halftime. Nathan Ake scored late on a Mahrez corner kick for City’s second goal.
It is the first time that Pep Guardiola has seen his team concede five goals at home and also the first time that a team has scored three penalties in a match.
Leicester City goes to the top of the table by joining Everton as 3-0 teams, while Man City falls to 1-1.

Rodgers gets a distinctive victory: Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers has been seeking a win over notable rivals since Liverpool and Man City beat him on back-to-back affairs during last season’s holiday matches. This absolutely qualifies, and doing it in the first of 12 weeks without Wilfred Ndidi makes the win even more impressive.

2. Pep’s point: Guardiola had been complaining about his injuries all week and it might have seemed a bit silly given the wealth of Man City, but when Ferran Torres and Liam Delap entered the game as substitutes and you looked at the bench to see that they were simply drafted. about a bunch of defenders and youngsters, well yeah. Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, Joao Cancelo, Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Agüero were lost.
3. Vardy loves the place: Vardy knows how to make the most of any contact in the area and is even better once he gets the ball in the spot. He has five goals in the young season and shows no sign that he is 33 years old (aside, perhaps, his limping walk).
Man of the match
Tielemans is the club’s most important player for the team now that Ndidi is out, but Nampalys Mendy completed admirably against the best attack in the league.

Schmeichel made a solid save on Raheem Sterling in the 18th minute as City tried a second, and the keeper also caught a header from Fernandinho on a free kick.
Leicester had a chance at halftime, but James Justin passed instead of shooting with Ederson too far from his line and Man City broke it.
Rodri put the ball into the goal after a free kick by De Bruyne but it was offside and the score was 1-0.
Kyle Walker then fought Vardy into the box in the 37th minute. He doesn’t miss many penalties, that Vardy.
