Ledzorkuku: MP contenders fall asleep in collection center – PHOTOS AND VIDEO by Nii Martey M. Botchway
At the Teshie police station, where the polling station collation was taking place on Tuesday morning, the two main contenders from the Ledzokuku constituency, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye of the New Patriotic Party (PNP) and Mr. Benjamin Ayiku Nartey of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) tried to stay awake and observe the process.
Although the spirit was willing, the body was weak.
The lenses of Online graph captured both candidates dozing as they sat by the qualifying table.
The NDC has already announced that they have “changed” Ledzokuku’s seat even though the compilation was not complete at 12:40 am when the party held a press conference at its national headquarters in Accra.

Online graphics Bernard Neequaye who was at the collation center at the Teshie police station reported at 2:40 am Tuesday that NDC parliamentary candidate Benjamin Ayiku Narteh had taken a slight lead ahead of NPP incumbent Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye.
Mr. Ayiku had obtained 33,334 and Dr. Okoe Boye owned 32,742 of 219 polling stations.
The interim results gave the NDC candidate a 592 vote lead in Ledzokuku at a time when 123 more polling stations had yet to be collected.
The Ledzokuku constituency has been a four-year transitional seat for parliamentary candidates since Nii Adjei Boye Selma won it in 1992 and 1996.
Before these elections, it was proposed that the current Dr. Okoe Boye win the seat a second time, Neequaye reported.
