The New Patriotic Party (NPP) should strive to involve all stakeholders in the party’s quest to retain power in the December general elections, National President Freddie Blay has advised.
“The responsibility falls on us, especially the leadership to open up and involve all members of the PNP in the electoral campaign,” he said, emphasizing that the party must avoid complacency in all its forms.
Ensuring a massive victory in the presidential and parliamentary elections, according to the National President, required disinterest, dedication and commitment.
Mr. Blay, who addressed the party faithful at the launch of the PNP Ashanti regional campaign in Kumasi, called on party activists to close their ranks and work together to carry out the party’s mission.
“We should work harder at all levels of the party hierarchy because the ruling PNP has many good things to offer Ghanaians for their prosperity,” he said.
The program was also used to present the 44 PNP parliamentary candidates from the region.
Mr. Blay pleaded with parliamentary candidates to continually explain the party’s manifesto to the electorate, to enable them to make informed decisions about which party they should vote for in the elections.
He advised constituency-level party supporters to bury their differences and solidly unite with the various parliamentary candidates, as well as President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for a resounding victory.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, PNP regional president, listed some of the party’s achievements in the past three years and said that the government’s socio-economic initiatives should continue.
