The Ghanaian striker has been ruled out of football indefinitely after suffering another health problem.

Danish SuperLiga club Vejle BK have announced that Ghanaian international Raphael Dwamena has been indefinitely sent off due to his health condition.

Dwamena has been diagnosed with a heart problem after six months of heart surgery before moving to Vejle BK this summer.

The Danish club announced on Monday night that the 25-year-old will not be available for action until further notice.

The former Deportivo Alavés forward was indefinitely ruled out of football due to a health problem that forced him to undergo a heart operation in October last year.

The club’s official statement reads: “The Ghanaian attacker arrived in Nørreskoven after a heart operation in January, where the 25-year-old attacker was implanted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator.”

“This has been continuously monitored by Vejle Boldklub’s healthcare staff and medical team during commissioning, on training ground and during club matches.”

“There has been only one case where Raphael Dwamena’s cutoff values when monitoring the heart have been too high, and this unfortunately also means that Vejle Boldklub must now take Dwamena off the field.”

Dwamena joined Vejle BK on a three-year contract from Deportivo Alaves of the Spanish League this summer.

He has scored two goals with one assist in his five appearances for Vejle BK

The club’s coach, Jacob Kruger, also sadly shared his thoughts on the Dwamena situation.

“That now there has been a case in which the limit values have been too high, we must, based on a professional evaluation of the health as a club, take the consequences.” He told the club’s official website.

“Rafael is therefore

taken from the field. Of course, we regret on behalf of Raphael, but the parties have been aware from the beginning of the consequence that would have been the case if Raphael’s monitoring had exceeded the limit values in the measurement.

“Raphael Dwamena has demonstrated in his short time at Vejle Boldklub a great human format, a professional approach to his profession and a desire to learn from it towards our young players. Now we will help Raphael in the new situation.”

Dwamena has been capped nine times with the Ghana senior team.
