The PNP ladies have stormed the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency with the agenda ‘4MoreNana, 4More4Lydia, 4 More to do more’, to solicit votes before the December elections.
The group teamed up with constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Lydia Seyram Alhassan to embark on a door-to-door campaigning exercise at Christian Center in East Legon.
The objective of the exercise was to spread the good works of President Akufo-Addo and the deputy, as well as to seek another term for the PNP.
Residents, on the other hand, were ready to vote for MP and President Akufo-Addo in the upcoming elections.
According to them, they are comfortable with his leadership and are ready to give him the opportunity to do more for the electorate.
In an interview during the campaign, Member of Parliament and parliamentary candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP), Lydia Seyram Alhassan, said her focus is to provide the best leadership to the people of Ayawaso West Wuogon who voted for her.
She pointed out that she was voted for to be her representative, her voice and to be able to fulfill the promises she made to the people.
Lydia Seyram Alhassan has also indicated that she is working for the good people of Ayawaso West and that what she has accomplished so far is visible for them to see.
“It would not take my opposition to erase what I have achieved for the people of my constituency. They can’t do that, because what I’ve done for people is visible; and they are the beneficiaries and can bear witness to that, ”he said.
He also stated that within this short period of time, people in his constituency can testify of what he has done, and expressed the hope that “the people of Ayawaso West will join in and help us work together.”
In mentioning some of the things he has done for his constituency, the deputy said that he has instituted and implemented the Ayawaso Business Scheme, which provides employment for young people.
The Plan, which is part of the government’s policies to reduce the unemployment rate in the country, saw a total of 11 fleets of cars donated to selected individuals in the constituency for commercial purposes. Recipients have been signed in to the Uber app and are expected to inform designated election managers about the sales.
She explained to this reporter that being an entrepreneur herself, she is ready to harness her skills and tap into the mindset of young people towards independence and wealth creation, saying that; “This is one of many models. This is the Ayawaso business scheme and under that we have the Uber driving model. We have a credit union. We are launching makeup, interior designs and fashion designs ”.
It has also created a Poverty Relief and Relief Fund to support the squatters of Shiashie.
It should be recalled that more than 500 squatters were displaced by the devastating fire, which destroyed thousands of Ghana cedis worth of property and belongings.
The MP provided mattresses and secured the Shiashie Presbyterian Church as a place of refuge for squatters while donating more than 500 bags of rice, buckets, and an undisclosed amount of money to squatters. It also prepared to help squatters improve their livelihoods.
The MP has also made vehicle and motorcycle donations to the University of Ghana and the Ghana Police to bolster security and eliminate growing security challenges on the university campus.
The donation that was made to help the University in conjunction with the Ghana Police to increase security visibility and enhance security patrols on campus.
This has been described as a “timely and necessary intervention”.
Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan, in a short time as a deputy, has been involved in capacity building of identifiable women’s groups in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency and has made great strides in the area of investing heavily in her constituents.
She continues to support her constituents, students, vulnerable women and children, and workers by throwing a lifeline at them.
However, she noted that her opponent is stunned by her achievements and, seeing defeat in the upcoming election, is trying to discredit what she has accomplished.
She stated that the hard work of President Nana Akufo-Addo and herself as a deputy in the constituency has made the New Patriotic Party (NPP) more attractive and has made the party appreciated by voters who are prepared to retain it. .
“The NDC I can tell you that the NDC has no chance of winning the NPP seat. Even if they are thinking in that direction, then they must be dreaming. They know they will lose the elections, ”he said with confidence.
He expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the respective volunteer groups, as well as to the members for their donations and support during the campaign.
