Kylian Mbappé’s transfer plan explained by the PSG ambassador

Kylian Mbappé’s transfer plan has been outlined by Paris Saint-Germain’s ambassador, Youri Djorkaeff.

The France international has been strongly linked to a move away from the Parc des Princes over the years.

Real Madrid have long been interested in the forward and Zinedine Zidane is a well-known fan of his compatriot.

But Liverpool have also emerged as a potential destination and Mbappé has previously spoken about his admiration for the Reds.

Last month, reports emerged that Mbappé had told PSG bosses that he wanted to leave at the end of the season.

Their contract expires in the summer of 2022, but if the French champions want to recoup part of the 166 million pounds they spent on it, they must sell next year.

Mbappé could leave the PSG

And that seems part of the plan, according to Djorkaeff, although the Ligue 1 giants must win the Champions League first.

Mbappé is entering his fourth year at PSG after signing for Monaco in 2017, initially on loan.

Despite being only 21, he has won every possible trophy in France, scoring 96 times in 130 appearances along the way.

But the Champions League eludes him, closing in last season when PSG lost to Bayern Munich in the final.

And the club’s ambassador, Djorkaeff, believes that Mbappé will not stay in Paris forever.

“I think Mbappe will always have the right opportunity,” he told the Paris fans.

Mbappé has been told to help PSG win the Champions League before leaving

“Now he is in a project. Entering his fourth year in Paris, he is a young player. I don’t see him stay at PSG for 10 years.

“His future is to win titles on all continents, something few French have done.

“Last year he had a great opportunity to win the Champions League. Unfortunately, it did not. This year you will still have the opportunity.

“The ideal [scenario] is that he wins it and then signs for a great club. Everyone will be happy. “

PSG’s Champions League journey started in the worst way last week when Manchester United beat them at home.

With last year’s semi-finalists RB Leipzig also in the group, any lost points could be detrimental in a couple of months.
