Residents of the Offinso North constituency in the Ashanti region have doubts that the popular fetish priest, Nana Kwaku Bonsam, will have much of an impact in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Nana Kwaku Bonsam, who is contesting the seat of Offinso Norte as an independent candidate, mentioned that her gods have assured her victory.

But many believe that the fetish priest has not done much in terms of helping community development to win their votes.

“I doubt he will win, but Collins Ntim has a good chance because of the work he has done,” said one voter.

“There is nothing greater than the power of God, are the gods who vote for it? Human beings are the ones who are going to vote and I believe that by the grace of God, Collins Ntim will win, ”he added.

In interacting with Joy News’ Nana Yaw Gyimah, residents said incumbent MP Collins Ntim will retain the seat as he had brought a lot of development to the constituency.

Another voter, who identified himself as Yaw Agyei and the brother of Nana Kweku Bonsam also said: “Kweku Bonsam is my younger brother, but I doubt he will win nor will all the other candidates besides Mr. Ntim win.”

“What my brothers have said is correct, no one can compete with Collins Ntim because we have accepted it,” said Eric Fosu, a resident.

“If you look at the work he’s done, none of them can accomplish even half and for Kweku Bonsam, he can’t even come close because we haven’t seen any development of him in the constituency. It’s just that he’s a famous radio fetish priest and that’s it, ”added Mr. Fosu.

The Offinso North constituency is being contested for the first time by four contestants, two of whom are independent candidates.

The two independent candidates, Boateng Sumila affectionately called “good boy” and Nana Kwaku Bonsam are determined to represent the people in Parliament.

The others are the incumbent deputy and deputy minister of Local Government, Augustine Collins Ntim, who is seeking his fourth term on the NPP ticket.

There is also the educator, Ofosu Acheampong Caesar, who represents the National Democratic Congress (NDC), hoping to overthrow the incumbent deputy on December 7.
