Ghana’s midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has hinted that he will end his illustrious playing career in the Ghana Premier League.

Asamoah is currently a free agent after Inter Milan knocked him out of the season.

The former Juventus ace is looking for a new club ahead of the next January transfer window.

It has been suggested that the 32-year-old follows Asamoah Gyan on his return to the local scene before ending his career.

Asamoah did not rule out playing in the Ghana Premier League.

“In the future, I won’t mind going there (to Ghana) and playing football, but this is not the right time to do it,” he told BBC Sport Africa.

“I have quite a few years ahead of me to play in Europe before considering such a move.”

“For me it would mean going back and supporting Ghanaian football, cheering on the youth, sharing my experiences in Europe with them and giving something back,” he added.

“I know they would look at a player like me and be eager to learn, I could help them with my experience, show them what is necessary and encourage them.

“This could also inspire other players who are now in Europe to come back and help. We could be role models for them.”

Asamoah began his playing career for Liberty Professionals before leaving to join Udinese in 2008.
