The owner of the LGBTQ + office located at Kwabenya in Accra, Dr. Daniel Asenso Gyambibi, has given his tenant, Alex Kofi Donkor, a week to pack into his 5-bedroom apartment.
This comes after Dr. Asenso Gyambibi contacted his lawyers, the Kwabenya district police service and the real estate agent about the breach of the lease by using the facility for LGBTQ + activities.
According to the Citi News report, the landlord has written a check containing Alex Kofi Donkor’s 10-month balance of his rent.
Alex Kofi Donkor rented the 5-room apartment two months ago under the pretext of using it as an office for a health NGO.
The said health NGO office was revealed to function as an LGBTQ + office after a team of police officers, national security officials, the Kwabenya Traditional Council, and the apartment owner closed the facility on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
According to Asenso, it was a surprise for him to see his building used for illegal activities after seeing photos and videos of the growing problem on social media.
“I called the tenant and asked him if he had heard that something was going on in the house, what it was, and he told me that we had a little party at the house and that it was on all social networks.”
“I said, wait, a party and all his social media, what do you mean by that? Then he started trying to be unreliable and I was really pissed off. So when he realized he had more information than he was , telling me that he confessed ”, he told the media.
