Reliable information GHBase.com is collecting from the regional capital of Ashanti, Kumasi says that Kumawood actor Andrew Ntul Mensah aka Scorpion has been attacked by unidentified gunmen.
‘Scorpion GH’, as it is popularly called, was attacked in his rented apartment at Aburaso New Site near Kumasi around 2:40 am on Thursday.
Officers from the Suntreso District Police Command rushed to the scene after a call for help and found Scorpion in a pool of blood at the home. The thieves had fled the scene when police arrived, a resident told the Daily News Ghana.
Preliminary investigations, however, reveal that the perpetrators used a car hitch to expand parts of a burglar-proof and gained access to the main building and headed straight for the victim’s door.
It later emerged that the robbery caught the attention of another tenant who was attacked and had both of his phones stolen.
Scorpion’s brother, Emmanuel Ntul, noted that his brother was shot in the right thigh and left ribs by one of the gunmen during a fight.
“He was with his wife and children when the incident happened … Then, they forced the door during a fight and according to him, one of them was ordered to shoot my brother,” Ntul said during a telephone interview from Komfo Anokye. Teaching Hospital where his brother is receiving treatment.
“They used a sharp projectile to hit him in the left ribs,” he said, adding that popular actors had visited the hospital’s emergency unit to wish him well.
Since then, the police have recovered the idiot, three empty cartridges of spent 9mm cartridges and a nasal mask as part of their investigations.
