The municipal executive director of Krachi East has revealed that the works at the cassava processing factory in Adonkwanta are 97% complete and will soon be operational.
Patrick Chartey Jilima said that when the facility goes online, it would encourage young people to pursue agriculture, especially young people in the constituency. industrial purposes.
He said it would also reduce unemployment rates in the Municipality and boost the agro-industrial sector while opening economic opportunities for women and people with disabilities.
Mr. Kwadjo Dei, Municipal Director of Agriculture, said that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry had brought in machines, which would be installed as soon as the structure is completed.
He said management officials would visit the facility and inspect the progress of the work and the way forward. Some farmers, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, indicated that the establishment of the cassava processing factory would encourage them to increase cassava and yam quantities to feed the factory knowing that their products would be purchased to avoid the perennial event. postharvest losses.
They stated that most of the farmers stopped farming due to lack of patronage, which is the biggest challenge, but were optimistic that the situation would change with the establishment of the factory.
