Women from the Kparblee Administrative District in Nimba County, who reside in Monrovia and other parts of the world, are expected to hold a meeting and fundraising program on Saturday, November 28, 2020.
Organized under the auspices of the women’s wing of the Kparblee District Development Association (KPADDA), the program will take place at the Twins Hotel, near the Monrovia Vocational Training Center (MVTC) in Paynesville, on the outskirts of Monrovia.
Making the disclosure on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, KPADDA Women Wing Acting President Madame Annie Gaylah-Ziatie said that the meeting is intended to awaken the spirit of unity among the citizens of the District.
“Until recently, we had not met due to the coronavirus. This time we want to come together so we can see what to do for ourselves, ”explained the Acting President of Women Wing.
Madame Gaylah-Ziatie said the meeting is necessary because it will also be used to raise funds so that they can embark on their (women’s) empowerment initiatives.
According to her, some 300 people, including KPADDA members, representatives of other organizations, other citizens of Nimba, government officials, and development, philanthropic and humanitarian personalities, are expected to honor the historic occasion, saying: “We look forward to raising America. $ 3,000.00 (three thousand US dollars) to US $ 4,000.00 (four thousand US dollars) during the program ”.
Ms. Gaylah-Ziatie further explained that the proceeds from the program and other related activities will be used to build women’s empowerment centers; something he said will start in Montserrado County before spreading to the Kparblee district.
“We want to build training centers for women in our District; but we want to encourage our members in Montserrado County by training before extending the program to the District, ”he further noted.
She said Ms Mai Saydee Gardea, president of Grand Gedeh Women in Montserrado County, is expected to be the guest speaker for the occasion.
Meanwhile, Madam Gaylah-Ziatie calls on all citizens of the Kparblee district, other patriotic citizens of Nimba and Liberia in general to honor this development event.
In a related development, the occasion comes as KPADDA transitions into new leadership, of which Madam Gaylah-Ziatie was elected Co-Chair of Administration.
KPADDA held its elections on November 7, 2020, electing all eight officials on white ballots. Other recently elected officials include Mr. Fredrick Gaye, President, Mr. Melvin Jimmie, Co-President of Operations, Ms. Edith Cole, Secretary General, Prince Mahn, Assistant Secretary General, Ms. Felecia Gueh, Financial Secretary, Martholine Kpeah, Treasurer and Moth . Ruth Paye, Chaplain General.
The new leadership replaces the current KPADDA leadership chaired by Mr. Peter Karngbaye, Sr.
