Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nana Yaw Amponsah has targeted the continental trophies for the club during his three-year stay.

In a message to the club on its 85th anniversary yesterday, the new CEO expressed his gratitude to Kotoko’s supporters for supporting the club throughout the years.

Amponsah said: “The year 2020 marks the 85th anniversary of our beloved club. 85 years in the life of each creature symbolize the end of one generation and the beginning of another. It is not surprising that 2020, despite being a difficult year for everyone, has triggered the reincarnation of Asante Kotoko. Like the phoenix, the great porcupine has risen from its ashes and is about to reproduce an offspring that will conquer the world.

“Asante Kotoko has accomplished everything she was born to accomplish in her first life of 85 years. Record league titles, African Cup and many other achievements that make it the best Ghanaian and African club of the century ”.

As part of steps to restore the club’s glory days, Amponsah called on all Porcupine Warriors stakeholders to work harder to be able to compete at the highest level of the sport.

“Today marks the beginning of a new era to propel our great club to be the African club of another century. Achieving this requires the support and hard work of every supporter and stakeholder. We will not rest on our laurels. We will work hard to compete at the highest level and make this club bigger than ever.

“Our great achievements in the past 85 years came with great efforts, resulting in Asante Kotoko being recognized in the African soccer industry as one of the greatest,” the statement added.

Asante Kotoko was founded on August 31, 1935.
