Asante Kotoko defender Christopher Nettey is filled with excitement after receiving his first call-up to play for the Ghana men’s senior team.
The full-back was initially not part of the 23-man squad invited to the Black Stars camp before the double-headed clash against Sudan in the qualifiers for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
However, with Harrison Afful unable to arrive for the next games at the International Break, Christopher Nettey received a late call to increase the team.
Reacting to the invitation, the delighted right-back says it’s a dream come true
“It is a dream come true, I am very excited about my calling. I have come so far as a result of hard work and dedication and I will do the same to cement a place on the team. I’m ready to learn from my elders and implement in the field when they give me the go-ahead, ”Nettey told Myfabulousonline.
The highly rated defender added, “I will continue to work hard to make everyone who has supported me since the beginning of my career proud.”
Ghana will host Sudan in the AFCON qualifiers on Thursday, November 12, 2020 and will travel for the return match 5 days later.
