Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings Hailed as NDP Presidential Candidate for 2020 Elections

The National Democratic Party (NDP) has hailed Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings as its standard bearer ahead of the 2020 elections.

This will be the third time that the former First Lady has been chosen by the party as standard bearer.

In 2012, Ms. Agyeman-Rawlings was disqualified from participating in the general elections by the Election Commission after failing to meet the requirements of the nomination documents.

However, he managed to get his name on the ballot in 2016, making it his second attempt, since the NDP was formed in October 2012.

At a ceremony held in Accra on Saturday, September 5, the Director of Elections of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr. Serebour Quarcoo made the official announcement after due process.

Speaking to JoyNews, the general secretary or the party, Alhaji Mohammed said, Ms. Konadu Agyeman Rawlings emerged as the party’s choice among three hopefuls.

The virtual event was honored by former President Jerry John Rawlings.
