Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) for the second time in a row has been ranked the best university in Ghana, according to the US News and World Report rankings for 2021.

KNUST was also ranked the twelfth best university in Africa, while the University of Ghana was ranked 24th out of a total of 40 universities.

In a statement released by the school’s director of relations, Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, KNUST received an overall score of 48.2, up from 42.4 last year, a huge improvement.

“The University published more than 1,323 books, presented more than 1,564 articles in various conferences, had a normalized citation impact of 16 and a total citation of 945.

In addition, KNUST obtained 1,336 publications that are in the top 10 percent of the most cited articles. 852 percent of all publications that are among the top 10 percent, 885 percent of highly cited articles that are among the most cited 1 percent, and 166 percent of highly cited articles among the most cited 1 percent ” , he claimed. .

For KNUST School of Medicine, US News and World Report ranked it the 264th best in terms of Clinical Medicine globally with an overall score of 55.5.

“The Faculty also earned a global Clinical Medicine research reputation of 591, a regional research reputation of 23, Clinical Medicine publications of 856 articles, a normalized Clinical Medicine citation impact of 15, and a total citation of 405.

“The Faculty of Medicine once again had 704 publications that are among the 10% of the most cited articles. In terms of collaboration, KNUST had 477 country-related international collaborations and 23 international collaborations, ”explained Mr. Bekoe.
