Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong has asked his colleague, Fomena MP, Andrew Amoako Asiamah, to reconsider his decision to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming elections on December 7.

According to him, although the party has treated some of its MPs unfairly, Agyapong insisted that Andrew Asiamah reconsider his decision in the interests of the party as a whole.

“I am against the decision of the National Executive Committee; because we were supposed to exhaust all available options before making a decision, ”Mr. Agyapong told the meeting.

Mr. Agyapong stated that he is aware that the Member of Parliament has rejected an invitation from the President, and although efforts to convince Mr. Asiamah to annul his decision to become independent have been unsuccessful, he remains unfazed and will continue to appeal to your conscience. .

“But I will not stop contacting him until it is Election Day. If you rescind your decision to run as an independent candidate, you will achieve a much higher position than the incoming member of Parliament, ”he said.

He assured the deputy of Fomena that he will assure him an appointment in case the party is victorious in the next elections on December 7.

“I cannot contact Mr. Asiamah. If his followers are here, they should inform him that I am not here to insult, but that I am here to kneel and beg him to come and let us have a dialogue.

He called on the residents of Fomena to vote en masse for the party’s parliamentary candidate, Mr. Philip Ofori Asante on December 7.

“This is the one chosen by the PNP to lead the constituency and support Nana Addo to victory in 2020. I urge everyone to put aside their differences and give unwavering support to Philip Ofori Asante.”
