Agyapong on Monday, September 28, 2020, did not appear in court to answer the contempt charges due to what his lawyers said was a “complication of a post-COVID-19 condition.”

His lead attorney, Mr. Kwame Gyan, explained that his client had the complication after the court hearing last Friday.

Therefore, he submitted a medical excuse form and asked the court to postpone the case for 14 days to allow his client to recover.

The presiding judge, Judge Amos Wuntah Wuni, agreed to adjourn the case, but ordered the doctor who drafted the duty of medical excuse to appear in court on Thursday.

Mr. Agyapong is in court for an alleged derogatory comment in which he described the judge as “stupid.”

Mr. Agyapong’s alleged comments were made in relation to a land matter in which he had been sued by Susan Bandoh and Christopher Akuetteh Kotei (Kennedy Agyapong), Ibrahim Jaja, Nana Yaw Duodu aka Sledge and the Inspector General of Police.
