Chelsea FC will announce the signing of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Haverts following the completion of his medical examinations in London.
According to Bild’s to Christian Falk, the German had his medical exams on Sunday and the player was expected to join the Blues for an initial € 80 million with another € 20 million to be paid in bonuses; the player hoped to sign a five-year contract.
The confirmation comes days after transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed that the paperwork between Chelsea and the German club was signed nine days ago and Chelsea are already preparing the official announcement.
Haverts will be the latest addition to Frank Lampard’s team, with the Blues being one of the busiest teams in the window.
The team has already acquired the services of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva and is expected to unload some players to create space for newcomers.
