Álvaro Morata will not be a popular man tonight in Turin.
The Juventus forward missed an open goal from SIX yards while trying to push the ball back into the net in the clash against Atalanta.
With just over ten minutes played, the 28-year-old hit goal with Cristiano Ronaldo and, instead of trying to finish off himself, warmed up his teammate by playing him in the last second.
The Portuguese couldn’t get it in, but luckily the ball rebounded for Morata, giving Juve another chance to take the lead.
But he tried, and failed, to tap home with a bold back heel from about twenty feet.
Morata would have been thanking the linesman after his mistake, as the assistant referee raised his flag to call offside and avoid the forward’s blushes.
You can see the horrendous Miss Morata, below …
Morata is not the first person to try a back heel when going to goal.
Mario Balotelli did the same once for Manchester City in a pre-season friendly, much to the dismay of then-City manager Roberto Mancini.
Despite his terrible flaw, Morata has been in good shape since moving to Juventus from Atlético Madrid in the summer.
He has scored nine goals in his first 12 games in Turin.
As he did in his Chelsea days, the Spanish forward has also missed some easy opportunities, and also made history by scoring an offside hat-trick in the Champions League earlier this season.
