Juventus expect Manchester United to allow Paul Pogba to return to Turin next month, on loan.
The Italian giants amassed £ 89 million from Pogba’s move to Old Trafford in 2016 after paying United just £ 800,000 in compensation when they signed him four years earlier.
And now they are lining up a cheeky offer to win back the 27-year-old French midfielder for nothing in the New Year, although the deal would include an obligation to buy in the summer.
United valued Pogba at £ 150m when the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, began attracting Real Madrid’s interest two years ago.
But they were recently forced to activate a one-year extension on Pogba’s £ 300,000-a-week contract to protect its dwindling market value.
Raiola has made it clear that the midfielder will not sign an extension.
“I can say it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United,” Raiola told Tuttosport.
“Paul is unhappy with Manchester United because he can no longer express himself in the way that he would like and as he is expected to do.
“Paul needs a new team, a change of air. He has a contract for the next 18 months and will expire in the summer of 2022.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have missed Jadon Sancho in the summer, but he still made some big moves in the transfer market with Donny van de Beek, Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani arriving.
But their start to the season has been mixed, with a loss at home to Crystal Palace and a 6-1 win by Spurs at one end of the scale, and a tremendous 2-1 win over PSG in Paris in the other.
The question now is whether they can find the right balance.

“However, I think the best solution for both Pogba and Man United is to get into the next transfer window.
“If not, the Old Trafford club knows that it risks losing him in a free transfer, as it is not Paul’s intention to extend his contract.
“The Manchester United board knows the risk of losing Pogba for free as the player has no intention of extending.”
And United know that they will now be lucky to recoup most of the club record fee they paid for the World Cup winner.
Madrid and Paris St Germain are also monitoring Pogba’s deteriorating relationship with his club.
But Juventus is weighing an offer when the transfer window opens in the New Year, and hopes a buy-now-pay-later deal will attract United.
