Juventus would reportedly consider an exchange deal that would see Paul Pogba return to Turin and Cristiano Ronaldo join Manchester United.
Pogba, 27, is destined to leave Old Trafford after his agent, Mino Raiola, claimed the midfielder “needs a new club” and is “unhappy” at United earlier this week.
While Real Madrid is strongly linked to the French international, Raiola seemed to hint that Juventus are leading the race to sign their client.
Pogba enjoyed a sublime spell of four seasons with Juve before his £ 89 million transfer to the Red Devils in 2016, scoring 34 goals and earning six major honors with the Old Lady.
Juventus remains interested in its former player and “is not against” a trade that would see Portuguese superstar Ronaldo move in the other direction, according to The Independent.
The report adds that Juve would reluctantly part ways with 35-year-old Ronaldo to free up funds for a much-needed rebuilding of Andrea Pirlo’s team.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has 18 months left on his contract in Turin, which brings him home £ 540,000 a week.
Meanwhile, United is also open to the trade deal and Executive Vice President Ed Woodward continues to keep an eye on the former club star.
While Pogba has failed for the Red Devils this season, Ronaldo has been in typically prolific form and has scored 12 goals in 10 games in all competitions.
The forward has won back-to-back Serie A titles since joining Juventus in 2018 and scored twice for the club to secure first place in Group G of the Champions League with a 3-0 win in Barcelona. on Tuesday.
Ronaldo’s Argentine teammate, Paulo Dybala, has had a less fruitful start to the campaign and has only scored one goal in 10 games.
The 27-year-old, who came close to joining Tottenham last year, is also believed to be available for a trade, although United are less interested in the player.
