Jurgen Klopp on Mohamed Salah’s future and why Liverpool star ‘laughed a lot’

Jurgen Klopp insists that Mohamed Salah is in a “good time” at Liverpool and has nothing to say about the Egyptian’s future.

Salah conducted an interview with the Spanish newspaper AS last weekend in which he discussed the possibility of leaving Anfield to move to Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Since then, despite Salah admitting in the same interview that he wants to “break all the records at the club” after having surpassed Steven Gerrard as Liverpool’s top European scorer, it has been speculated that the forward might be looking to leave the club .

There have also been suggestions that Liverpool will look to extend Salah’s contract, which will run through the summer of 2023.

Speaking at his press conference ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with West Bromwich Albion at Anfield on Sunday, Klopp gave no credit for talking about Salah’s future and said the Egyptian forward is enjoying life in Anfield.

“We never talk about contracts, at least with the press, so why should we start now?” Klopp said.

“Mo is in a good mood and in a moment, and in great shape and that’s the most important thing to me.

“If you had been training today, you would have seen him laugh a lot. He enjoyed the session, so that’s good too.

“The rest is good for you to write down, but internally, nothing really [to say]. “

Salah has not commented publicly since the AS interview over the weekend, but posted a photo of himself smiling on his social media channels on Monday.
