Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo?
It is perhaps the biggest footballing debate of the 21st century, one that we are almost sure you have had with your friends many times.
The two superstars dominated for the past 10 years, creating a legacy that will extend far beyond their retirements.
The last high-profile name to weigh in on the argument is Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who has offered a great response.
Klopp chose Messi, but he also described Ronaldo as the “perfect player”.
“For me Messi, but I couldn’t admire Ronaldo more than I already do,” the Liverpool manager told YouTube channel freekickerz.
“The explanation is as follows. We have already played both and both are almost impossible to defend.”
“But Messi has much lower physical requirements from birth. If you could paint yourself as a perfect player, he would be as tall as Ronaldo, he could jump and run as high or fast as Ronaldo can. And what adds to that en His total attitude is absolutely perfect and professional, it couldn’t be better.
“And then there is little Messi who makes everything seem so simple. And therefore I like him a little more as a player on the field. But Cristiano is also an absolutely amazing player.”
“So it’s really difficult, but what they both have in common is that they’ve both left their tracks for so long.”
“There are also some younger players who have similar potential, but doing it during this period is even more incredible.”
It is a fantastic answer.
Klopp is clearly a huge admirer of both players and it’s just his appreciation for how easy Messi makes the game look that left him at Team Messi.
