Medeama communication director Patrick Akoto insists star midfielder Justice Blay will ONLY leave the club on his terms and will not be forced to sell his award.
The midfielder has been involved in a tapping row with Asante Kotoko from Ghana.
Blay underwent a medical examination in Tarkwa over the weekend after a successful loan period, but returned to Kumasi in a sensational twist to force his transfer.
The midfielder is in a fight with his employers after he traveled to the second largest city in the country without permission.
While Medeama says he is ready to negotiate his release, he insists the powerful midfielder will only leave the club on his terms.
“No one can force us to sell it. We have been talking to competing clubs and hopefully we can put an end to this matter,” Akoto told Accra-based Hot FM.
“However, let me state unequivocally that Judge Blay will only leave Medeama on our terms, not the other way around.
“We have your economic rights and it is extremely important that we all show mutual respect.
“No potential transfer will be imposed on us. It will not happen today or tomorrow.
“Medeama President Moses Armah is a consummate businessman and will not bow under any pressure. The club is always ready to do business, but it must be done by the books.”
Kotoko, who is a two-time champion of Africa and claims to be the richest club in Ghana, is struggling to meet the $ 50,000 valuation Medeama gives the powerful midfielder as they plan crowdfunding to secure his signature.
Both clubs have failed to reach an agreement but the latter scenario could completely compromise any attempt to sign the player.
Blay, a former Hasaacas and Eleven Wise midfielder has a current contract with Medeama until 2022.
It appears that the battle lines have been drawn for a showdown between the two clubs over Kotoko’s pursuit of Judge Blay.
