One of the professors who redefined science teaching at the University of Ghana is retiring this year.

Until his retirement, Dr. JP Adjimani was Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Ghana.

He will be remembered as one of the few who broke the barrier between teachers and students. Friend of all students, he helped most of the students, especially the weak.

You can be credited as one of the professors whose office was open to all students at all times.

Affectionately referred to by his students as “Dr. Adji”, the academic retired from teaching in July 2020. His influence on his students has been overwhelming, as many report how their perception of life changed after meeting him .

He has mentored several scientists and change makers from around the world who credit his success. For decades, his unique teaching style has helped nurture a generation of scientists who are doing very well in various capacities.

JP Adjimani returned to Ghana from the United States and began teaching in the Department of Biochemistry on July 10, 1992. He retires after 28 years of teaching science in a very creative way.

He has summarized his life story in his autobiography, THE FEAR OF FAILURE, to be published in October.
