Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil returned from injury to score for MKE Ankaragucu in a 4-3 win over Konyaspor in the Turkish SupaLig on Saturday.

The agile forward had been sidelined by an unknown injury during the team’s 1-0 home loss to Trabzonspor.

After missing last weekend’s loss to Antalyaspor due to the setback, Paintsil returned to the team of the day for the home match against Konyaspor after passing a late fitness test.

He replaced the imported Norwegian Torgeir Borven in the 77th minute as Ankaragucu trailed 3-2.

The Ghanaian quickly announced himself in the game with a delicate punch a minute later to reestablish parity.

Emre Gural’s penalty in the 89th minute proved decisive for the hosts as they won the game 4-3.

The victory is Ankaragucu’s first in the Turkish top flight campaign after ten rounds of matches.

Paintsil has sacked 3 goals in 7 appearances for the club so far this season.

He joined Belgian giants club KRC Genk in the offseason.
