José Mourinho has criticized the attitude of some of his Tottenham Hotspur team members when comparing his approach to Europa League matches with the same problems encountered during his time at Manchester United.
The Portuguese manager won the Europa League trophy with United three years ago when United overcame a grueling campaign to win the only major trophy missing from their collection.
Despite their success in 2017, United was far from an easy path, as Mourinho often found it difficult to motivate his players for some of the less glamorous ties.
Tottenham appear to be experiencing a similar problem following their 3-3 draw with LASK Linz on Thursday night, with Mourinho comparing his performance to one of his former United side.
Manchester United took a double hit from Neymar when they lost 3-1 to Paris Saint-Germain in their crucial Champions League match on Wednesday.
It means United will travel to Germany needing a point from their last group match against RB Leipzig to qualify for the round of 16.
Before that, the Reds have a tricky trip from the Premier League to West Ham to negotiate the weekend.

“I have a feeling from my experience that some of the players feel like they shouldn’t be here,” he said.
“I think it is a question of attitude, which I have experienced before.
“Even at Manchester United I had a similar situation when we lost two away games in the group stage and when we get to the knockout stages you have better opponents and more difficulties, the team faces the games differently.
“The point is that the group stage of the Europa League does not motivate some players. I knew it. Some players are fundamental for us and I always need them on the field in all circumstances.
“I need a couple of these players to give the team a bit of balance, as an example [Pierre-Emile] Hojbjerg and [Heung-min] Son, without them I don’t think we would have a positive result. “
