The 28-year-old took to Twitter Sunday afternoon to announce that he had contracted the disease.
Ayew was left out of the Crystal Palace squad to face Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday, a match that ended 1-1.

The forward said that although he is currently showing no symptoms, he has already started his quarantine.
“Unfortunately, I have tested positive for Covid-19 and have started my quarantine in accordance with health guidelines. Fortunately, I feel fine and I don’t have any symptoms. “ tweeted.

Ayew becomes the fourth Black Stars player to test positive for COVID-19 after recent international friendlies against Mali and Qatar.
Last Wednesday, midfielder Bernard Mensah, who plays for Besiktas, was confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19.
Portuguese Vitoria Guimaraes have also announced that Gideon Mensah has tested positive for the disease, while Joseph Aidoo of Celta de Vigo has also contracted the disease.
