The vice presidential candidate of the Democratic National Congress, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has stated that the NDC flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama, is the candidate most committed to empowering women in this year’s elections. This is demonstrated not only in his selection as Running Mate but in the party’s pragmatic policies to improve the lives of women and Ghanaians.

Professor Naana Jane was speaking at a campaign stop at Gomoa Dominasi in the central region’s Gomoa East constituency. He stressed that the NDC People’s Manifesto addresses issues that affect all Ghanaians but more women. She cited how CHPS compounds benefit women the most and the Free Primary Health Policy that will meet the health care needs of many women.

Additionally, John Mahama’s promise to book appointments for women and gender balanced youth entrepreneurship and development policies will lift many women in Ghana.

Professor Naana Jane asked for the people’s vote for John Dramani Mahama as president to make her the first female vice president of Ghana and to continue the work of addressing poverty and development issues.

The heads of Dominasi and the traditional Gomoa Akyempim area praised the running mate for taking up the challenge of serving as a push for women and called for a peaceful election.

Party officials present asked people to reject the PNP in this year’s elections and vote for the popular party committed to all.

Professor Naana Jane urged residents of Gomoa East to vote for John Mahama of the NDC and for the area’s parliamentary candidate, Desmond De-Graft Paitoo.
