The national organizer of the New Patriotic Party (PNP), Sammi Awuku, has indicated that former President John Dramani Mahama is a major obstacle to the development of Ghana’s youth.

According to him, the old Mahama administration has been unsuccessful in instituting policies that advocated youth development and urged the Ghanaian electorate to reject John Mahama and his party. [National Democratic Congress] in the next polls.

“Sir. Mahama remains the biggest obstacle to advancing our youth development. In 2008, the NDC promised that they would legalize Galamsey’s activities, so there was a mad rush for people to get into that company, but the government in that moment remained on the sidelines. They did not regulate these activities and this led to the contamination of our environment, “he said in the Point of View segment of Citi TV on September 14, 2020, monitored by GhanaWeb.

On the promise to legalize the ‘Okada’ business by the NDC standard-bearer, if elected, Sammi Awuku opined that the former president was hypocritical with his promise after his administration declared the business illegal.

“Mr. Mahama’s NDC, for the avoidance of doubt, declared Okada’s business illegal. I was under him [Mr. Mahama]. So is it one of the mistakes you want to correct? Our plan is not to put lives on the streets and put them at risk. If we need to support these young people, surely we will, ”he emphasized.
