John Dumelo, NDC parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuoguon, has requested a recount of votes in the constituency.
The actor in a tweet said that he “has officially written to the district election official to request a recount across the constituency due to various irregularities.”

This comes hours after the incumbent deputy, Lydia Alhassan, was declared the winner of the 2020 parliamentary elections.
Lydia Alhassan won with 39,851 votes to 37,778 votes cast by John Dumelo of the NDC.
However, in a statement seen by JoyNews, Mr. Dumelo has indicated that he is not satisfied with the outcome of the elections.
He alleges that “one of those irregularities was the exchange of my figures and those of the PNP candidate at the voting centers.”
